I have been so delinquent with my posts, I know.  I've definitely been focusing more on Baby CP's blog than this one.  I haven't had much time to print new designs, but we have been featured in a number of treasuries recently that I just haven't gotten around to posting about them...here are a few.

Herringbone Cards

I'm sure I have mentioned before that herringbone is one of my favorite patterns.  I was inspired by some recent DIY projects that I have seen on various blogs over the past few months and used Illustrator to design this herringbone pattern by hand.

Also new in our etsy shop are these cool retro antique bicycle notecards.  The first limited run comes in red.  If they're popular, we'll explore other color options.

New Fluorescent Bicycle Notecards

I don't know why I thought I'd have so much time to work on new items while on maternity leave...here I am on the day before returning to the office, posting about a few new items in our etsy shop because I finally got around to taking some decent photos.  At least I'm getting to it in time for the holidays...

The first new item is a Rainbow Pack of Fluorescent Bicycle Notecards.  The classic rainbow pack has been a big favorite, but I thought I would go a little retro this time.  I considered offering them with black envelopes, but most people don't have the special pens required to write on them, so I stuck with the standard kraft envelopes.

2011 Father's Day Cards Are Here!

Father's Day is just a few weeks away and quickly approaching! 

This year, I decided to print our Happy Father's Day card in red ink on a few different colors of cardstock.  My favorite is the red ink on heavyweight cappuccino gold leaf coverstock, but I think the red ink on blue has a very fun retro look.  This is a limited run of 15 cards.

Last year, I printed the design with blue ink on a variety of colors of cardstock.  If you prefer the blue, we only have two 2010 cards left in stock in our etsy store.

Father's Day Cards

Now that Mother's Day has passed, it's time to start thinking about pops.  Last year our Father's Day cards, printed in blue ink, were pretty popular and we only have 2 left.

Chunky Pineapple Business Cards Finished!

Holiday Gift Tags

For my second holiday greeting card design, I created a dark metallic blue and used a pretty cursive script to print Happy Holidays over a silver snowflake.  These festive gift tags are available on the Chunky Pineapple Etsy site in sets of five.

Winter Wonderland Greeting Cards

We have been busy at Chunky Pineapple and have completed printing our Winter Wonderland holiday greeting card. 

The cards have been printed on white matte cardstock and baby blue linen cardstock.  I used light blue ink, silver for the snow and mixed a custom shade for the cardinal red.  The insides of the cards are blank so you have plenty of space to customize your holiday greetings and yearly catchup.

I also have an alternative style of the same theme that I haven't taken photos of yet.  The other design involves a bleed so that the trees don't end on the front of the card and actually "grow" over onto the other side.  I'll have those with me at the SFEtsy Winter Wonderland Holiday Bazaar on December 4.  I hope to see some of you there!

Custom Wedding Thank You Cards

A few months ago, T, a bride-to-be, approached me with a request to create custom Thank You cards for her wedding.  T had the paper, the font and the colors already chosen, since the thank you cards were meant to match her letterpress invitation and reply card.  The theme of her invitations involved two loving elephants - symbols of loyalty and patience.  We played around with different layouts involving T and E's initials and the elephants, and finally, this is what T choose.

The cards were printed on Crane's lettra paper in ecru with chocolate brown ink.  To get the greeting on the outside of the card and the initials on the inside, the cards required two passes through my gocco.

The CP Business Card!

Earlier this year, I realized that in order to approach gift shops with my cards and to show at craft fairs, I'd need a business card.  Our original Chunky Pineapple logo although very cute, does not lend itself well to gocco printing or letterpress because it cannot easily be reduced to a black and white image.  In my blog travels, I came across a great letterpress company called Dingbat Press and they offer a great little branding package.

As part of the package, Adrienne created three original designs in different styles based on my answers to a series of questions.  I wanted something fun, feminine and modern.  We went through two rounds of proofing and my wonderful girlie girls voted on the designs and helped me come to a final decision.  The proofs are below.  They are not 100% final, but I thought I would give you all a sneak peak.

The package comes with 100 business cards and 50 tags.  I had originally wanted to print in yellow to continue the pineapple theme, but it was just too light for the small font.  I love orange though!

The package also includes a file for a blog banner so there might be some changes here on the blog soon!

Multilingual Christmas Cards

I just posted these Christmas cards in the Chunky Pineapple Etsy shop over the weekend.  I created the image of a Christmas tree with different languages and different fonts.  How many of the languages can you identify?

Christmas Gift Cards

They're finally ready!  I'm excited to show you the Christmas gift cards that I designed and printed and have just added to our Etsy shop.

I used six different colors to print this card, five of which are shimmery metallic inks making these extra festive.
These cards are too small to be sent through the mail as Christmas cards, but they are perfect for attaching to gifts as gift tags.

Bicycle Notecards - The Rainbow Pack

My bicycle notecards are my biggest seller at the moment.  Earlier this summer, I printed a batch in tangerine ink.  Those cards are almost all sold out now, so the time came to print new ones, but I decided to change things up a bit.

Domestica

So I realized today that I haven't done a post about Domestica, a friendly neighborhood store in Des Moines, Iowa.

Domestica focuses on home and personal accessories and carries funky posters and prints, ceramics, jewelry and other great home decor items.  They also carry Chunky Pineapple cards!

Urban Bazaar

This weekend, we dropped off some Bicycle notecards (the new rainbow pack) and Asian Language Thank You Cards at Urban Bazaar in the Inner Sunset Neighborhood.  Urban Bazaar is the first brick and mortar shop that will be selling our cards here in San Francisco.  Yay!

Brandi and Briana (also artists and fellow Etsians) just opened their gift store Urban Bazaar at the end of July.  The shop's focus is on Fair Trade and locally handcrafted accessories and home decor items.  When I stopped by the shop on Sunday, I saw a lot of cute and interesting stuff.  My favorite were the beautiful wood wall clocks with screenprinted designs (I wish I had brought my camera).  Other things I liked were the jewelry, the small line of graphic baby onesies and the mix of cards and prints.  They also have a garden area in the back and it will be interesting to see how they'll utilize that space in the future.
